Shopping cart obsessions

Hello all,

So I took my car to the Auto Shop and got the quote yesterday, $1477.73. Yes. That is real life. So I am paying $500 and luckily my parents are paying the rest. This debt, however, will put quite the damper on my summer shopping. I am dying to make it out to Marshalls and TJ Maxx due to my friend Carly's recent splurge on about 500 shirts for like $100. But I can't, since I have no vehicle, which is a constant reminder that I owe my parents $500 and need to save!!!

I'm sure I would have satisfied my craving for Marshalls/TJ Maxx had they had an online shop. BECAUSE, my recent obsession, is a little silly. I should explain the sites I'm doing this for, they're cosmetic stores in the UK. Barry M and Eyeko are some of my favorites, the makeup is SO cute and new. So, my strategy, has been selecting an obscure amount of products, adding them to my shopping cart, pressing "Check out" and leaving it up on my screen to pretend I somehow have checked out and the products will be arriving at my front door soon. This is even more relevant because all of their prices are in pounds, so I don't even know the conversions anyway.

Anyway, I signed up to be an Eyeko Ambassador. So buy some things from their site, and give me commission. Just put in my code for a free gift!

Thanks :) xox

I'm baaaaaack :)

Summertime and the livin's easy is RIGHT. Let's get right to it, lots of beauty/skin care items purchased in the last few days. YAY. Today I went to Bath and Body Works with my Momma because she had a coupon for buy 3 get 3 free, AND mainly because I have been wanting to get some things in the Dancing Waters scent ever since I smelled it in my sister's room one day. So we picked up a few things..

Twilight Woods Bubble Bath $12

Dancing Waters Fragarance Mist $12

Dancing Waters Body Lotion $10.50

Coconut Lime Verbena Body Butter $15

Vanilla Coconut Scentportable Fragarance Refills $5

Some of these things were free, but just giving the prices for reference. I sort of felt like I was cheating on Lush being in there, but I did get just two things from Lush yesterday anyway :) As always, I got Cupcake, my most favorite face mask ever. It's AMAZING. I went in there wanting to try Charlotte Island, but the Walnut St. store in Philly did not have it in yet. So I picked up one of their lip scrubs, which I have also been wanting to try..

Sweet Lips Lip Scrub $8.95

I got it in Sweet Lips scent because the other ones were like Bubble gum and Mint and they're just too plain Jane for my taste.

I also got some things at Walgreens, but I'll update with that LATA.

Forever & ever

I decided to finally update on my pretty purchases from Forever 21 on my last shopping trip. I was once again in HEAVEN as I browsed the new, two-story uptopia that has just been added to my local mall. On top of the Forever being new and it being the beginning of the semester so some girls are still experiencing it in all its glory for the first time, the store is always HOT. And when you're carrying 2+ bags of clothes on hangers, like I am, I tend to break into a sweat whilst shopping. I call this my Forever workout. It's new, but it will catch on soon.

Anyway, pretty things...

Free Spirit top $17.80

Bouquet Ruffle Dress $22.90

Crochet Open Cardigan $29.80

Flower Set Sleeveless Top $15.80

I've already worn my cardigan twice since purchase. Can't wait to putz with the rest of these pretties. While at the mall I also picked up (LAST PURCHASE I PROMISE) a new Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner. I'm obsessed with this eyeliner, it's the only one I've used since I've been introduced to it more than three years ago, and I'm still in love. The first color I got was the Ivy Shimmer Ink, but now I'm strictly a Black Ink girl.

Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner $21

While I was at the Macy's Bobbi counter, the lady asked me if I wanted a new brush. The brushes used to be about $18 if I remember correctly, which is a lot, but kind of acceptable. However, I was APPAULED to find out the eye liner brush has been upped to $25, more than the eye liner, yes I know. Outrageous. I found a brush at CVS for like $5 that works exactly the same, so I'll keep using that.

Good thing I got my paycheck for my first day of training at work: $8.72. Hey, it offsets something :)

More later! Xo.

Girl you look sexy in those funky old sweatpants...

Gotta love Jay May

I just went to the grocery store for the first time in a few weeks. I can not wait to cook everything. Eating healthier has definitely made me a better cook, who knew!

I got a Crush on Lush

Hello bloggies. This is gonna be a long one.

Good news for my blog and my life in general: I got a job. While I'm just in training so far, I will be working behind the counter for a speciality retail store on campus. I'm so excited to start working because I think the job will be WAY fun, and, I love making money :)

This recent aquisition of employment is partially the reason for what will be shown below. The other partial reason has to do with me looking in my closet for cute clothing to wear "going out" and finding a lack of it. I have not shopped since way before I came back to school, and I think I deserved a little pick me up. I also have been introducing myself to Lush.com lately, and about a month ago I RSVPed me (and a +1, I felt so cool doing that) to the "Mardi Gras" event at my local Lush. I was not really sure what an RSVP entailed, and I've yet to be to an event in a Lush store, so this morning when my Big Sister in my sorority and I decided to bop to the mall, I was excited :)

Turns out an RSVP entails a free shower gel for just coming in. Here she is, and she smells BEAUTIFUL:

Happy Hippy $9.25

In honor of the event, the store was giving two promotions: spend $35 and get some free things, spend $50 and get more free things. I think you can figure out what promo I decided on :)

My regular purchases were as follows:

The Godmother Soap $8.64
Tip with the soaps! They'll cut you a big chunk, ask for it to be cut into baby slices so you don't have to put your whole chunk in the shower for it to get all wet.

Too Drunk...Emotibomb $3.95
I have been wanting to try this for E-V-E-R. It's supossed to reduce hangover effects the morning after. Can't wait to try it :)

Up You Gets Emotibomb $3.95
Similar to above, just plop it in the shower and it freshens up your day. Smells SO YUM.

Helping Hands $12.75
Basically the reason why I adore Lush like I do. I got Helping Hands as a gift last summer, and it has been a miracle worker on my dry hands in the winter months. I'm almost out of my first tub, so another one was necessary.

B Electro $16.95
YUMMIEST SMELL EVER. I can't wait to use this.

Cupcake Face Mask $5.95
I used this tonight, and I died. This is my favorite purchase. It's a face mask for 5-10 minutes which smells like chocolate (You even have to keep it in the fridge, I almost tried to eat it) and is designed for "oily and teenage skin." How ideal. I'm IN LOVE.

SO. With all of my purchases coming to just over $50, I recieved the following TO DIE FOR products FOR FREE!!!!!

Sugar Scrub $4.95
I tried this tonight in the shower, and in my haste to try all my stuff, I brought the whole bar in with me. It immediately melted so I tried to save it, pretty unsuccessfully, and it's in a plastic bag now. Learn from my wrongs: cut off a piece before taking it into the shower.

Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly $6.50
Not quite sure how this is gonna work, but it's fun to play with :)

Sexy Peel Soap $5.40
The name is enough for me. Yum.

Karma Komba Solid Shampoo $9.25
I'm hesitant about a solid shampoo, but I'm also kind of excited to try it. The smell is really fresh and nice.

Sunnyside Bubble Bar $5.95
I have been wanting to try this foreverrr. It makes your bath look like liquid gold! How pretty pretty. I'm going to have to wait a bit longer though since I have no bath at school! :(

So basically, I got $41.30 worth of things...For. Free. No big deal. Yep. Just livin the life. I couldn't even wait to shower today, I think I used like every product. My whole room smells amazing just because my bag of goodies is in here.

I also got some things from Forever 21, but I might save those pretty items for another post since this is quite long. YUM LUSH I'm obsessed. And yes I'm staying in on a Saturday night to sleep and write this post. Wondaful.

BYEEE xo.

I got Seniority wit da Sorority...

... so, that explains why I love college.

(I always loved that song.)

So anyway. In honor of my sorority sisters and I completing another year of formal recruitment, and subsequently regaining a grasp on our already plummeting grades, getting more than 5 hours of sleep a night, wearing shoes without a heel, and beginning to basically semi have our lives back, I thought it only appropriate to google image one simple term: "sorority girls." These are some of my findings.

Just hangin out with some of my friends...OMG it's so funny you happen to have a camera! POSE!

Hi Mom & Dad! Thanks for my $600 dues this semester! :)

When puckered, pouted lips just is not enough...find a willing sister!

This photo was entitled "Future sorority girls" on the same page of images as the three above. Thanks mom for your high hopes :)

All kidding aside, I do love our new "babies," as they are so affectionately called, pledging my sorority this semester. I will be a GRAND BIG this year, as my little Lisa will be taking a baby of her own. It's very exciting to see our hard work pay off.

Even more exciting was when I was in my Issues of Contempory Art class on Bid Night this past Monday. Outside of our class in the adjacent building, whole sororities were taking Bid Night photos and cheering their cute peppy cheers that I love myself. As I was paitently waiting in my lettered sorority shirt for my professor to dismiss the class so I could get to my own sorority's Bid Night, the quite outspoken Fine Arts major sitting behind me screamed, "God damn sororities shut the fuck up!" It was a nice touch to my evening.

All for now. Xo

Super Chic

Just a quick post to let you all know about one of my most beloved websites, Chictopia.com. Chictopia allows users to create a "fashion profile," posting outfits, getting feedback, and commenting on other's looks. (There's actually so much more to the site but you can check it out for yourself!) It also allows you to "follow" certain fashionistas and check out their new looks. Some of my favorites are msthang77, andrea_k, comeovertothedarksid, & of course, dulcecandy87.

So that's all for now, go explore Chictopia.com and have fun! Xo

Man on the Moon

I'm not really sure how I came across HBO's new show, How to Make it in America, but I'm extatic I did. I felt the need to share this free episode available on Youtube here because not only does it star Bryan Greenberg (Jake from OTH... swoon), Victor Rasuk (Tony Alva from Lords of Dogtown... DOUBLE swoon) and the amazingly talented Kid Cudi, but all the Entourage producers, specifically Mark Wahlberg, are Exec producers for this show. The first episode is great, and Cudi's mixtape, free on Facebook, is awesome. (Phoenix's "Rome" remix is to die for). Can not wait for the season to start!

Don't go breakin my heart

Just a quick snowy morning hello to share this pure bliss provided by Youtube:

Thanks to my friend Kelly Benesh for this gem. Enjoy. Xoxo
